Olivet Neighborhood Mission brings together community members in Linn County. Since the 1970s, we’ve evolved our services and space to make individuals and families in Cedar Rapids healthier and happier.
The New Year has started out cold and wintry, but I wanted to perhaps warm your hearts with some of the good news of how much your support of Olivet Neighborhood Mission affected our community in 2020.
• During the Fiscal Year 2020, Olivet Neighborhood Mission recorded serving 4,145 unduplicated households which accounted for 12,179 unduplicated people. This is a 10% increase of the number of households served from 2019 to 2020
• During 2020, there were 35,981 total recorded visitors. Visitors include anyone who comes into the physical building whether to use the Food Pantry or to see the Mission Nurse.
• An estimated 10,100 donations receipts were received for the Clothing Closet have been accounted for in Fiscal Year 2020.
* There were 210 Christmas sponsors that signed up to help families in need in 2020. In addition, there were:
162 families (over 924 people) received Thanksgiving Gift cards & food boxes. 268 families (over 1,239 people) received Christmas gifts and food. An additional 25 households were helped through the Christmas Room, which included donated items from several local businesses. 102 regular customers over 60 years old were given holiday gift bags to cheer them. 34 residents at a local assisted living residence were also sponsored by Olivet Christmas Adoption sponsors.
