How to Donate Food

Drop off food donations at the Olivet Neighborhood Mission (230 10th Street NW) during our open hours (Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Saturdays 9 to 11:30 a.m.). If you have questions or want us to make arrangements to receive your donation, call us at 319-364-7946.

Food Donations We Accept

Your donations help us stock our food pantry and feed hungry families. We accept:

  • Bread and deli items
  • Cereal
  • Fruits and vegetables (fresh or canned)
  • Grains and rice
  • Milk products
  • Nonperishable sources of protein, such as protein bars, peanut butter, and canned tuna
  • Pasta
  • Premade boxed meals

Other Ways to Help

Your financial gift helps Olivet Neighborhood Mission purchase food and other items we need to give to community members for free. Volunteer your time at our food pantry and see firsthand how your contribution brings healthy food, hope, and healing to your neighbors.

Adopt the Food Pantry

Cover the cost of food for our food pantry for a week or a day. Your generous gift feeds as many as 500 people. Count on us to make sure your donation goes as far as possible thanks to our partnership with the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) Food Reservoir. Participate as an individual, business, club, or other organization. Choose to adopt our pantry for:

  • One week: $575
  • One day: $115
